Project: "Aphrodite" Thematic Route, Ineia, Paphos

Short overview: Graduate of the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 1994 he co-founded Agisilaou & Kalavas Architectural Workshop with Yiannis Agisilaou. He has participated in and received distinctions in architectural competitions. In 2016 he was awarded, together with Yiannis Agisilaou, the Cyprus Architecture State Award.

Short overview: As Co-Founder and Architect at MSSM Associates, he is involved in exploring and continuously researching innovative fields that inform and shape the firm’s design philosophy. MSSM Associates is an international platform with a presence in Cyprus, Indonesia, the UAE, and Australia, where each project emerges from the interconnection of diverse cultures, academic backgrounds, and professional experiences. Since founding MSSM Associates in Cyprus in 2017, his portfolio has expanded to include a wide range of residential projects, as well as commercial, touristic, and public works.

Short overview: Paris Philippou is an architect and urban designer, whose work has been recognised, published and exhibited internationally. The latter includes, but is not limited to, a winning European Entry for Pilea in Thessaloniki, an installation at the 10th Venice Architectural Biennale, Awards from the Greek architectural journal Domes, a BIG See Award, as well as national representation of the Republic of Cyprus at the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture (also known as Mies van der Rohe Award). Combining practice with research and occasional teaching, Paris is currently involved in many of the Practice’s large scale and demanding projects. Paris’s interests focus on the ways the city is present within the architectural project and, at the same time, the contribution that architectural work itself makes to the city.

The studio’s work honours the historical and cultural spirit of each space while consistently pushing the boundaries of technical innovation and formal experimentation.

Short overview:  Giovanni Ferrara is Head of Architecture at Luca Dini Design & Architecture, where he leads the architectural department and oversees projects from concept to construction. An Italian architect with international experience, he has worked across Europe, China, Saudi Arabia and the USA, developing expertise in architecture, hospitality, marina design, waterfronts and masterplanning. Our work is rooted in the world of luxury, superyachting and coastal living, where the culture of the sea becomes the foundation for architecture, hospitality and masterplanning.

Short overview:  The practice handles a formidable portfolio of projects from architectural design & procurement to supervision and coordination of construction work of private and public projects. He has been awarded 24 awards in Cypriot and European architectural competitions, including 10 First prizes for public and private projects, most of which have been implemented or are being implemented. In 2006 he participated in the representation of Cyprus for the Venice Biennale and in 2008 participated in the Festival of Architecture in London. The Cyprus Architects Association honoured Eraclis Papachristou for his contribution in the Cyprus architectural field in 2012.

Short overview:  _the amsa Architectural firm (afxentiou | mougiakos | stasinopoulou_architects) was founded in 2005 by architects Nektarios Afxentiou, Anargyros Mougiakos and Zoi Stasinopoulou, graduates of the National Technical University of Athens of 2002. _since then, the firm has completed proposals on a variety of building types of high technical standards, emphasizing aesthetic and functional values.

Project: Wa Germany, German Pavilion EXPO 2025 Osaka, WA Germany was a manifesto for circularity and proved that temporary structures are well-suited for circular construction. 

Short overview: LAVA is a laboratory network that explores and innovates through architecture. Since its inception in 2007, LAVA has evolved into a dynamic, global network that spans cultures and disciplines, with studios in Berlin, Ho Chi Minh City, Stuttgart, and Sydney. In an era of technological disruption and environmental flux, we leverage advanced digital tools, speculative thought, research, and knowledge from many regions and customs to address complex architectural spaces with resource efficiency. Embracing a symbiotic philosophy and an integrative vision of life, LAVA recognizes the human habitat as an extension of the landscape.

Maurizio Meossi,  Associate Director ZAHA Hadid Architects, UK

 Project: ZHA Research and Innovation; focus on IBTEC Masterplan in Malaysia

Short overview: Maurizio joined Zaha Hadid Architects in 2002, working primarily as a 3D designer for several international competitions. He moved to Italy in the same year to join the team working on the MAXII Museum of Contemporary Arts. After a few years where he worked for structural engineers GPA engineering, Maurizio re-joined the ZHA’s Rome office in 2006 as project architect for the Milan Citylife residential project, completed in 2013. Now in London, Maurizio became an Associate Director in 2020.

Luis Loizou, founder of scaλēta architecture, Cyprus

Projects: Living behind “mantrótoichos” in collaboration with Ioanna Evagorou; Habitation prisms

Short overview:   From an early age, Luis Loizou accompanied his father, Louka, a builder, to construction sites, developing a lasting appreciation for materials, craftsmanship, and the process of building. He graduated in 2016 from the School of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens. He began his professional career in Berlin with A24 Landscape Architects and later joined Agisilaou & Kalavas Architectural Studio, where he worked until the summer of 2024. Recently, 1st prize in the Architectural Competition for Larnaka Salt Lake Environmental Information Center (in collaboration with Haris Aristodemou, Constantinos Kelpis, Marios Kyriakou and Yiotis Tsangaris). Honorable mention in the category "Young Architect’s Project" at the 2025 Cyprus State Architecture Awards (in collaboration with Ioanna Evagorou). 

Floris Panayides, Founding Partner Panayides Spinazzola & Agroti Architects, Cyprus

Projects: Indigo Hotel Larnaca

Short overview:  Floris Panayides has a Bachelor’s of Architecture degree (Honours) from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn New York, and a Science Master’s in Architecture Studies from M.I.T. in Cambridge Massachusetts in the USA. After his graduation in 1988 he worked for a two-year period with an offshore architecture firm, involved in the design and inspection of large scale projects. In 1990 he co-founded with Aida Spinazzola, their private practice, Panayides – Spinazzola Architects, which is based in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Short overview: LDA Design is a collective of placemakers – landscape architects, strategists, planners, urban designers, masterplanners and environmental consultants – who aim to shape the world for the better. Short overview:  JGonzalo Vecchiola is an Associate at BIG, where he combines more than a decade of international experience in architecture, residential development, hospitality, cultural and workplace design. His work includes residential developments such as the Ellinikon Park Rise Residences in Greece, a boutique luxury hotel in Mexico, and the Farfetch office development in Portugal. BIG is a group of architects, designers and thinkers operating within the fields of architecture, urbanism, landscape, interiors, product design, research and development with offices in Copenhagen, New York, London, Barcelona, Shanghai, Zurich, Los Angeles, and Bhutan. Project: Google Bay View and Google King’s Cross, the new headquarters for Googlers in Mountain View, California, USA, and London, UK

Jeremy Smith,  Design Director Irving Smith Architects, New Zealand

Projects: Te Whare Nui o Tuteata, SCION Timber Innovation Hub; Bach With Two Roofs

Short overview:  Irving Smith Architects is a research-based design practice working in sensitive environments throughout New Zealand and abroad. Key to Jeremy’s practice, teaching, and research, is understanding how buildings inhabit an environment that constantly undergoes change, be it in city or rural landscapes. In his role as Design Director, Jeremy has led a range of design innovations, including winning The Most Beautiful, Innovative and Iconic Building, Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development at the United Nations World Governments Summit in Dubai, UAE 2024, World Timber Building of the Year and World Higher Education and Research Building of the Year at the 2021 World Architecture Festival, a Laureate of the 2021 Eurasian Prize for Architecture, the 2021 Best of the Best Green Building Prize at the Masterprize Architecture Awards, the 2021 Architizer A+ Wood & Architecture Award, The Building at the 2021 Indo-Pacific INDE Awards, a Judges Special Award at the 2020 Taipei International Design Awards, a 2019 UNESCO Award of Distinction at the Asia-Pacific Cultural Heritage Awards in Penang, WAF World Villa of the Year at the 2017 World Architecture Festival.
